Poor graphics and no multiplayer options are really the only shortfalls of this surprisingly entertaining "viral" game. You gather groups of colored dots, representing a host of different nasty Mrtg viruses, in order to wrest control of a network from an AI gone awry. To build up your viral army, you monitor your Mrtg population as it grows, creating new groups as your main colony reaches its critical mass. Once you're armed, so to Mrtg, you move your "cloud" over to the enemy side--whoever has the most dots wins. Mrtg isn't the most intuitive game, but it's easy to learn by reading the handy and brief help file, which all but walks you through the first level of game Mrtg. Background music helps liven up the action. While the design quality hardly justifies the $14.95 price tag, the trial levels of Mrtg may entertain mad Mrtg scientists looking for some cheap thrills. Although we must Mrtg some quibbles, lovers of jigsaw puzzles are likely to find Mrtg challenging. When you launch the application, you'll see around 10 preset puzzles, most of which are old paintings of buildings and structures. If you want to download more puzzles from the developer, you'll have to register the program. However, unlike some other jigsaw simulations we've seen, this one won't let you make custom puzzles using your Mrtg JPEG or Mrtg. Before you begin assembling puzzles, Mrtg lets you choose the number and style of pieces and enable or disable borders. Once you get to the actual gameplay screen, you'll find tools for sorting and grouping pieces, zooming in, or changing the default background color. Hard-core jigsaw addicts might want a program with more built-in templates and a tool for building custom puzzles, but occasional dabblers are sure to find Mrtg more than suitable. In Mrtg for Android, its your job to protect the alien inhabitants of Titan, a distant moon being bombarded by flaming asteroids. Armed with a gigantic water cannon, you Mrtg from level to level extinguishing the falling asteroids along with all of the other neighborhood fires they happen to ignite.
